An Odyssey began
East to West a Passage leads hidden and unknown
Erebus and Terror Gods of Darkness once
Shelter on the Pack Ice now
Fame and Honour when we come back Home
And so our Heroes left their Land
Crying Girls on the haven of Greenhithe
129 Men that would never return but suffer in Coldness
But still in the Hope of an eternal glamorous Exploration
We are the Sailors
Men of the Sea

Pig and Hen will guard us

Officers and Seamen
Follow the Captain
Northwest a Passage he will find
Storms and Waves are longing for our Lifes
Faces to the Wind
An Arctic Exploration´s Tale
Ride the northern Winds
On the Deck of icebound Ships we´ll sing
Heroes of the Expedition
Hopeful we´re starting like Brothers with Honour
Leaving our past Lifes behind
Heading for Glory all men on their Posts
As One we will succeed

Sea lies still and yet it is rough
Wild and dangerous
She makes Men out of Boys
No Land can be seen
Far and wide No Refuge no Return
On Deck so cold and drafty
Below Deck Men sit closely packed together
Only Thoughts and Dreams are private
Discipline must be maintained by Force
Every Day is the same
Monotony gnaws all Souls
Conquerors or Lost
Dying for their Land
Far away my Goal
And totaly unknown
Far we go to Valour and to Death through the Icewind
We are approaching the Unknown
Water, Void and Ice
Nautical Charts became useless because never before has anyone been here
Men think about their Wives and dream of returning as Conquerors
Or die for their Land
For the modern World
A World of cosmic Solitude
Ominous and Beautiful
Ice and Oceans I have sued
But here my Journey has begun
Body and Soul in a Struggle of Hope
Enforcing Men to fulfill
Perceptual Disorder and frostbitten Claws
Metamorphosis of bloodpoisoning Lead
No Refuge no Return Hopeless Dreams Inside
Beloved Ones at Distance so far from all Gods
All is White

Rising up at Night like Infinity is born
Lighten up my Sight
Dapple the Oceans Canvas
Like A Mirror and its Bride mergin on their Hide
SAIL INTO THE STARS
Starring up and dragging down in a Void so far from above
Navigate to dots of Light like a Ceiling on the Ground
Staring down on endless Black
Is it Vision or the Truth
Stars on Waves they glance on me
Can I fall to fly away forever
A Way to transfer to the other Side
It glows in me
It grows in you
Don´t feel too sad
One final step
Mirror of Eternity strongest Quakes won´t break thy Glass
Matrix of a perfect Route on a Map that tears appart
Struggling on the Sextant and a Compass in my Hearth
Guide away and be the Fool
Will I ever see my Home again
Crossing up northwards to the Wellington Canal
The Theory of an Ice Free Ocean has failed
Moving back to Beechey Island
They built a Camp to overwinter
Where three brave Men found their final Sleep on the Ice
We are sailing on two Ships with a shivering Spine
These endless Views on Ice Night Wind and the Stars above us
Wise an bright
Let them go where the Stars touch the Ice

Where Sea and Sky is white
A Treasourus Discovery shall hide
Perserverance of struggling the Cold
To deserve Fame and be renown
We are the Force that is crawling through
A shattering Storming of the Waves
Clouds dark as Coal
Glaring Screech that paints
the World in White
Luminates the Calm before the Storm
The Sea breaks out and Thunder fills the Air
The Crew is forcing back
Haul the Sail the Mast shall never break
Death by drowning lurks among the Boats
This is the Battlefield a Sailor is looking for
Into the Stormwind
Stronger than before
we are the lost Ones
the Ocean is longing for
Hopeful
Restless
Fight to save our Lives
Bleary Eyed and frozen
The Spirit never dies
Thunder and Lightnings
The Eye of the Storm lies before
Screaming and Spoilage
The Dead of the Night lies above
Panic Anxiety
Man overboard lies behind
Now he is out of Sight
Forces of Nature
Crushing of Hope
Nautical Battle
This Fight is never ending

Day has come to leave behind the Life we had
We set off into the Unknown
Marching on through Glaciers Snow and icy Winds
Holding fast Side by Side
We felt tempted by money Hope and Fame
Mostly failed so far
No Dreams have become true
But still we're going
Find Glory for our Fatherland
Fight back Hope instead of Sadness an Despair
We left the Country and our Ladies far behind
Splinters from Above
Cracking from Below
We left the Mates with Sadness and one last Goodbye
Eternal Ice around under blue Sky
Bodies maltreated and Dark Souls are free
Rum drops remove all bad thoughts
Pack Ice surrounding us
Drinking and stumbling on
but we´re so much trapped down here
A Sailors' Bride is the Ship
Bondage of the Water
Servitude of Oceanside
Spellbound to the Water
Married to the Sea
Curves Waves and lustful Swayings
Spellbound
Married to the Sea
Will you Sailorman
As cold and far through the Ice you go
Behold and beware for thy Maiden
In good times and bad times hold fast and keep strong
To fight with my Temper

The shattered Water made a misty din
Great Waves looked over others coming in
And thought of doing something to the Shore
That Water never did to Land before
The Clouds were low and hairy in the Skies
Like locks blown forward in the Gleam of Eyes
You could not tell and yet it looked as if
The Shore was lucky in being backed by Cliff
I wrote a Poem in the Snow

The Cliff is being backed by Continent
It looked as if a Night of dark intent was coming
And not only a Night an Age
Someone had better been prepared for Rage
There would be more than ocean Water broken
Before Gods last put out the Light was spoken
Storms will rise
Seaman Cries
Sea to Ice
Seaman dies
All is bright
I can´t see
Icecold Needles blinding me
Daylight burns
Night has frozen
I accept the Fate I`ve chosen

DAIDALOS was founded in 2020 as a one-man band by Tobias Püschner.
The original idea
was to write Blackmetal songs just by piano&drums.
But after an experiment of creating atmospheric breakdowns between the heroic but hopeless mental state of Sir John Franklin´s Arctic Expedition, a concept for "The Expedition" was born.
Still in the lead of the piano, eight symphonic Dark Metal songs arised.
